About Us

Around 2021, Sue Ann Miller and Cindy Dreibelbis met at the Berea Recreation Center playing Pickleball. They hit it off right away and realized they had the love of Pickleball in common. 

Sue and Cindy put a plan in place to add another court at the Berea Rec. They measured other gyms that had three courts then, measured the gym at the Berea Rec to see if another court would fit. Sue put together a spreadsheet and presented it to the Rec Director.  The Rec refinished the floors in August of 2023 and added the third court. In November of 2023, the Berea Pickleball Association non-profit 501(c)(3) was formed in effort to foster the sport of Pickleball in the community and to raise funds to build 4 outside courts. 

BPA has had many different types of fundraisers, such as; leagues, socials, raffles, pickleball lessons, and have also had fun events like going to the Guardians game and picnics. BPA also networks with community organizations, taken several courses geared towards nonprofits, and continues to learn and grow.
