Secretary/Treasurer
Upon retiring from Berea City Schools in 2020, Sue discovered a new social outlet playing pickleball at the Berea Rec Center, where she learned to play from Cindy Dreibelbis. She quickly became a pickleball enthusiast. Sue has participated in pickleball drills, coaching sessions, and leagues as well as helped teach new players how to play pickleball. She enjoys organizing outlets for others to learn and play pickleball.
Before her education career, Sue gained valuable leadership experience as a buyer, Store Manager, and Divisional Vice President for the May Company. After teaching in the classroom for 19 years, she then transitioned to a role as the District Instructional Technology Coach for Berea City Schools, where she played a key role in enhancing educational practices through technology.
With her diverse background and dedication to community, health, and wellness, Sue Ann Miller is an invaluable team member, driving our mission to make pickleball accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
President
Cindy's pickleball journey started many years ago in Phoenix when her uncle asked if she wanted to try this new sport. Then in 2018 when she was laid off due to the government shutdown, Cindy played a few times at the Rec and learned more about the game.
After her retirement as a contractor at NASA Glenn Research Center, she approached the Rec Center to see if they could get open play times on the calendar and that's when Berea Pickleball was started. At first, they only had 2 courts then expanded to 3.
Cindy's love of the sport has grown over the years and now she's hooked. Her background includes: drills, lessons, clinics, tournaments (Senior National Olympics and the Pan American Games) as well as, playing at more than 40 different locations across the US. See you on the courts!
